You need to travel more, if even to your local library. When was the last time you recognized that you could get free audio books online from there anyways?

Why does Apple only offer this to iPhone 4 users? Why would they designed a recessed phone jack? How do they expect to come away not seeming like a jerk for doing so?

I think more people should jailbreak their iPhones to increase functionality. Lockinfo is particularly useful. No one will actually do this until I actually put together a video showing them exactly how much more useful it is.
It is interesting how much more open my mind becomes when I write things down that have been on it.

What are these people after? Why is it that they are so enamored with 'stuff?' how great are these deals anyways? I haven't particularly seen anything immensely unbelievably cheap.

Eye-fi cards, why is this not becoming more of the industry standard? Why don't they have adequate software to work with it? There shouldn't be so much frustration behind such a potentially powerful product. They need to shape up their customer service department, much like TaskRabbit. They cannot fail to get back to users so frequently if they want their products and services to shine, as they come as a whole.

Money doesn't motivate people to complete tasks that need to be done in today's world, in fact, it mostly hurts people.
Which brings to mind:
"Money doesn't solve money problems"
Money misplaces intentions and reduces authenticity
It causes people to sell out and reduces the artists in this world, and turns them into painters.

We need websites to be designed more like how our brains are organized. I think I am realizing that I am not really writing this blog for other people, but more for myself. I am unsure whether or not I want to leave this public again or to take it offline. If I leave it public this will last nearly forever, and my words, however well composed or quickly thrown out, will represent me for eternity.

Competition is arguably not healthy
Look up Jacque Fresco talking about it. (I know you won't though, I'll make things easier in the future for you)

I am trying to figure out how to streamline writing quality substance as well as balance what content I can deliver in a convenient and quick manner.
I am noticing how much easier it is for me to close tabs if I post the content here, because I can basically search through the past history of my life if and when I come across something that I want to share with someone else.

Do you follow people you absolutely deteste? If not, do you really deteste them?

Cell shading is so cool. While this isn't cell shaded, it was similar: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1265980443505&set=a.1265979483481.2036994.1049580196

I learned if you don't have links and tons of content, you are probably going to bore people. So put more links so they can spend as much or as little time as they want on your page. Make it more easily manageable.

Thanks Pepe for pointing me to www.Useit.com

Why aren't there better mice? They can easily integrate a better/more effective mouse/clicking system that is super way more ergonomic I feel, but don't because of... the convention? AutoHotKey makes my life a lot easier, more people should know about it, and automator. and Ninite.com

Smelling lots of unique things frequently can apparently develop more neural networks in your brain. Why not try? It's always refreshing and works as a very effective anchor. Just look up neuro linguistic programming and how you can best orchestrate your emotions with a variety of them.

People who don't pay you back when they owe you. How do you deal with them without coming off as uber upset and crybaby pants? How do you always leave them an out? Why is it that people will pretend to be friends, then so blatantly ignore and avoid another once money is involved - I feel like it ruins lots of things.

I have found that the most memorable and revealing conversations come from when you are completely honest. Have you noticed this?

Why is unrest so much more attractive and interesting than complacency and serenity? Are we predisposed to  desire to cause something to happen? Why is it that we would rather inflict pain on ourselves than go 'without feeling'?

More people should know more keyboard shortcuts, for example, learning recently that CTRL+ Arrow key scrolls the cursor back one word, which is ultra useful for when you are typing prettymuch anything. I think more people should take the time to learn about all these small things, because as mentioned in my previous post, which was supposedly for another day, I was emphasizing the importance of reducing or eliminating things that take a small amount of your time but that you do frequently. I tried dragonspeak for a while where I would dictate what I wanted it to say, but it quickly became quite confusing and with only 99% accuracy (meaning 1 word wrong in every 100, which is about every paragraph), it quickly became tiring.
I also copy pasted some text earlier out of one entry into another, but got distracted, and then promptly copied something over the clipboard, effectively losing that data forever. Why don't we have a more intelligent copy paste system? Why can't we store multiple banks of copy before we paste? How much would it cost to get something like this developed easily where it has a history of our past several many 'copies' just in case.

Why hasn't windows or mac developed a better, faster, easier to type into text entry box that automatically saves itself and has revision history? It is such a basic part of a computer, it seems so simple to program too. Why doesn't windows partner with so many smaller companies in bundling their software, free of charge, with them? Why don't they make bundles of these cd's more conveniently cheap (or free) and available to the public? Can you even conceive of how much time that would save?

It's actually a lot of work to block people, I'm surprised - first I have to delete them on Facebook, find their emails and block those, then block all their SNs, then I have to go to my Google Voice and block their phone numbers.

Sheesh, why do people block others anyways? It seems such an immature thing to do.

It reminds me of why I take my Real Estate class - to appreciate the time that I'm not in it.

Long days - we should have more of them

This post is for yesterday, as the last was for today, and the last was for three days ago.

What things do we do frequently that don't seem to take up much of our time? Looking for keys, powering on our computer, waiting for our iPhones to load things - small things that take time. What can we fill that time with? An anchor. Anchors to orchestrate our emotions or to change how we perceive the world, to share and think of ideas.

On the topic of ideas, it is interesting to note how when we share our ideas regarding certain topics, it opens and frees our minds to conjure up new and interesting ones. It is interesting how the principle of synergizing and sharing is so much more effective than going things alone.
Why don't you have a responsibility buddy?

How do you stay on top of tasks? Google Calendar or writing notes the night before of what we want to accomplish the next day, we should all develop some sort of organization system.
Eyefi cards are particularly interesting, though they have a lot of negative reviews and the people I talked to on the phone were a bit difficult to get a hold of - but were overall somewhat helpful. There are a lot of unfortunate experiences from professional photographers though and reliability is one of the largest problems I might have with it.

What does your backup system look like? I hope you have your files in at least three places - two locally (within your city or on pieces of property you own) and one in the cloud. Dropbox can help with that. For free. So can Google Docs. More importantly, they have plenty of phone apps too to integrate into your life as well, as I find that I don't use things that don't integrate themselves into my life super readily and easily - which is why GVMax is awesome, and everyone with Google Voice should use it in conjunction with Gchat/Digsby, so you can respond to your text messages from your computer.

How can we train police officers to be more emotionally intelligent?

I went back to radioshack to see if they could program my scanner and I was impressed at how expediently and willing they were in helping me. I asked what the perks of working there were and he talked about knowing about the most recent technology. What does that mean in the long run? What do your goals and what you look forward to mean in the long run?

Country Sun is an interesting grocery. It has lots of

There is a man who stands outside the Bank of the West all day that patrols the parking spaces. It doesn't make me positively about potentially paying patronage to them when they hire a guy to stand around all day - the 85% open parking lot did not seem particularly prone to abuse with their half dozen notifications all over the place stating how they will tow your car if you park there and don't use their services. I wonder who makes those types of decisions, and why they can't replace him with a video camera and a large warning saying that you will be fined.

"The fool wonders, the wise man asks"

Keeble and Schuchat is an especially interesting place to go if you have any interest in photography. If you can get beyond the high pressure salesmen and their judgemental glares then you might learn a lot from someone who wants to 'use up' their time and energy on you. I feel that they are quick to offer their help based on the commission system and also quick to determine whether or not they can squeeze a sale out of you (on the main floor at least) I asked them about the Nodal Ninja which seemed to be a relatively affordable option at $220 relative to the $700+ Manfrotto options - gviven that there is a showing this Friday and Saturday, I'll likely return then.

I really want these to be more organized but I'm not sure how I can make this content more readily interesting and readable - while I don't want trash out there with my name on it I have also considered the fact that establishing a habit of producing something rather than nothing is infinitely better, given that my words will outlast my children's children's children. Hopefully. If the world lasts that long.

The Problem with Product Photography

Is that you can't be particularly creative.
In this post, I'll explain why:

An example of a shoot that I did several years ago, there isn't really much that can be done here.
 Color gels
 Depth of field
 Compression of lens
 Arrangement of props
 Bokeh management
Lighting sources, how sharp, how powerful they are relative to each other

Tortellini Miso Soup is excellent.
